Citizens Against Economic Sanctions, (CAES), provincial members have endorsed Constitution Amendment Bill number 3 while denouncing their former director Martin Zharare for graft charges.
Matebeleland South coodinator Sifelani Moyo said they are in support of CAB3.
“We are very much behind CAB3 as CAES Mat South because there are a lot of projects being done in our province which we want President Emmerson Mnangagwa to finish without disturbances of an election,”Moyo said.
“The only challenge is our former director Zharare is tarnishing the image of the organisation by his court cases on fraud that is why we gave him a vote of no confidence as a province,” he added.
Manicaland coodinator Tobias Dhliwayo also weighed in saying they are mobilising support for CAB3.
“In Manicaland we are not going back CAB3 has been accepted and we are mobilising more people towards the achievement of he bill,”Dhliwayo said.
“People should not be moved by Zharare’s shenanigans that is why we expelled him,” he added.
Mashonaland East coodinator Nelson Mano said CAB3 is a done deal.
“We have concluded as a province that CAB3 is a done deal, so let us give President Mnangagwa time to finish his projects,” Mano said.
“Zharare has tarnished the image of both ZANU PF and CAES so people should just ignore him.
Chief Sunamagonde also condemned Zharare saying he stole people’s hard earned money in Binga and intimidated them in the name of ZANU PF.
Zharare told the media that he is being fought because he is supporting CAB3.
“The differences we are witnessing are not administrative, but ideological,” he said. “I stand firmly in support of Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 because it speaks to the broader vision of stability, continuity and economic progress.
“Those opposing it within the organisation are entitled to their views, but they cannot weaponise internal processes to effect an illegal takeover.”
Acting CAES director Elias “Samuriwo” Muchenje said the organization is going forward despite Zharare’s shenanigans.
“We are moving forward as an organisation that is why people gave Zharare vote of no confidence because of graft now he is being dragged to courts and our organisation is moving, all the provinces have endorsed CAB3,” Muchenje said.
