A MAN from Zvikumbo village in Guruve Ward 19 allegedly went berserk and axed his wife and her parents in a shocking attack on Monday morning.
The suspect was reportedly apprehended by members of the public in a citizen’s arrest shortly after the incident.
Witnesses said no fatalities had been recorded by the time of reporting, although the condition of the victims was not immediately established.
Mashonaland Central acting police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Lucy Chigwenhese said she was yet to receive a report on the incident.
“I am yet to receive the report,” she said.
The circumstances surrounding the attack, including what may have triggered the alleged violence, were not immediately clear.
