Rising star, Ayanda Ndlovu,  headlined a thrilling showcase of young talent after delivering a strong performance at the 2026 President’s Cup Juniors Tournament, reinforcing Zimbabwe’s growing reputation in junior golf.

Ndlovu, who recently represented Zimbabwe at an international junior golf event in Ireland, proved her class once again, finishing among the top performers in the 8–10 years category with 17 points.
Her international exposure continues to set her apart as one of the country’s most promising junior golfers.

The tournament, held under the auspices of the Zimbabwe Golf Association, brought together some of the country’s brightest young prospects, with players competing fiercely across different age groups.

In the 8–10 years category, Rose Musakasa emerged as the winner with 22 points, while Ndlovu secured second place. C. Mnungwazi finished third with 16 points in a tightly contested field.

The 11–14 years category also produced standout performances, with Isabella Rose claiming top honours after scoring 26 points. B. Gondo finished second with 22 points, while A. Maisiri and C. Sigaule both recorded 21 points.

Speaking at the event, ZGA president Blessmore Gandawa said the performances were a strong indication of a bright future for the sport.

“These juniors have shown remarkable talent and determination. As an association, we are encouraged by the level of growth we are witnessing. This is the future of Zimbabwean golf, and with continued support from parents, coaches and partners, these young players will one day represent the country with pride on bigger stages,” he said.

Tournament partners NetOne Cellular Pvt Ltd also hailed the high standard of competition and the emergence of young talent.

Public Relations Manager Ernest Magadzire said the company remains committed to supporting junior development.

“This is a very special moment for us as we witness these young golfers showcasing their skills and passion. We applaud them for their courage, discipline and sportsmanship. At NetOne, we believe in empowering young people and supporting their dreams — they are already winners in our eyes,” he said.

Magadzire also commended parents and coaches for their dedication in nurturing the players, saying their role was critical in shaping future champions.

With continued backing from stakeholders and increasing international exposure for players like Ndlovu, the President’s Cup Juniors Tournament is fast becoming a key pathway for Zimbabwe’s next generation of golfing stars.
