HARARE – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has urged Zimbabwean citizenry to constantly visit historic liberation war shrines for a deep insight on the country’s independence and sovereignty.
Speaking during the burial of late Brigadier General (Rtd) Mark Charles Chimwaza, Mnangagwa said both urban and rural populace have endured to fight for the country’s freedom during the liberation struggle.
“I urge, more of our people, especially the youths across all levels, to deliberately visit various historic liberation war shrines. This will provide insights into what the young people of yesteryear endured to bring about the freedom , sovereignty and independence which we must never take for granted,” Mnangagwa said.
“The youth, along with the rest of our youths rural and urban populations made conscious decisions to fight or support the liberation struggle,” Mnangagwa added.
Meanwhile, Mnangagwa said the duty is on everyone to continue building on existing foundations, by defending and advancing their shared national development aspirations.
