A Gokwe man was killed in Mazowe, Jumbo area after he had a cellphone argument with his girlfriend at a tuckshop.
Lazarus Mangezi’s lifeless body was found by Tapiwa Moyo the next day after a cellphone dispute at Anesu Sithole’s tuckshop in Mazowe.
Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the murder case.
“I can confirm a murder case in Mazowe where Mangezi was killed by unknown suspects after a cellphone dispute,” Mundembe said.
Allegations are that on July 1 the now deceased (Mangezi) proceeded to Sithole’s tuckshop to collect his cellphone which he had left charging.
Upon arrival Sithole told him that he could not give him the cellphone since it was bought by her employee Zorodzai Mungarati.
Mangezi was dragged by two suspects who wrestled with him while Sithole was inside his tuckshop.
They fatally attacked him and the lifeless body was found on the ground by Moyo who then filed a police report.
Police are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of the duo.
