The Ambassador of Palestine, Dr. Tamer Almassri, has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa for his unwavering support of Palestine’s pursuit of justice and self-determination.

During the 79th United Nations General Assembly, a speech delivered on his behalf by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Honourable Fredrick Shava, highlighted the importance of international solidarity in addressing the long standing issues faced by Palestinians. His emphasis on human rights and self-determination resonates profoundly with our aspirations for peace and dignity.

“The President’s speech not only brought attention to the Palestinian plight but also reinforced the necessity for collective action among nations to uphold justice, equality and end the last occupation of the 21st century by Israel.

“By voicing support for Palestine, he has contributed significantly to raising global awareness about our situation, which is crucial in fostering a more just world order.

“We are hopeful that this solidarity will inspire other nations to follow suit and advocate for Palestinian rights within international forums. The courage demonstrated by President Mnangagwa serves as a beacon of hope especially at a time Israel is expanding its genocide to Westbank and Lebanon creating a regional war”, Dr Almassri explained.

Dr. Almassri praised President Mnangagwa’s courage, saying his words brought attention to Palestine’s plight and inspired hope for a more just world order.

“Palestinians are hopeful that Zimbabwe’s stance will encourage other nations to advocate for their rights, fostering global awareness and collective action”, Dr Almassri explained.

The Foreign Affairs Minister Shava “The time for mere rhetoric is long past. The international community cannot continue to turn a blind eye or be numb to the systematic injustices and suffering of the Palestinian people.

“We call upon the Security Council to fulfill its mandate by implementing robust measures that ensure the protection of civilians, the upholding of international law, the facilitation of a just and lasting peace”, Minister Shava added.
