Desmond Chikamhi, aka Nyanduri WeZaka, is representing Zimbabwe at the Africa Conference on Agricultural Mechanisation in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, organised by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.
As Founding Director of World Life Changers, an organisation empowering orphans and vulnerable children, Chikamhi is sharing insights on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable development. His work aligns with FAO’s goals to boost food security and resilience in Southern Africa.
“The conference is a pivotal platform for us to address the pressing issues of climate change, poverty, and food security,” Chikamhi said. “As Zimbabweans, we are no strangers to the impacts of climate change, and it’s imperative we adopt innovative agricultural mechanisms to build resilience.”
Chikamhi’s recent book, “Try Again,” inspires entrepreneurs to pursue dreams amidst climate challenges. His work has earned global recognition, including an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Development Studies and an International Business Excellence Award.
“I am honoured to represent Zimbabwe and share my story of resilience and determination,” Chikamhi said. “We must work together to ensure a food-secure future for our children.”
The conference, running from February 2-6, 2026, brings together experts to tackle pressing issues in Southern Africa. Chikamhi’s participation highlights the crucial link between agricultural innovation and climate action.
