Zvimba East Member of Parliament
(MP) Kudakwashe Mananzva is investing the $50 000 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocated to the Constituency by Parliament towards constructing a clinic in Sunnyside area, Ward 25, which will help thousands of villagers to get easier access to health services.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday, Mananzva said he is committed to uplifting and ensuring that the local community have access to health care services closer to them.

“During my tenure i have committed myself to change and improve our community, this project is is going to be a game changer and let’s work together to realise this initiative.”

“Everything is now in order and the committee which is overseeing this project had paid for everything needed in the next coming days works will begin”, said Mananzva.

A committee was formed to
supervise mobilisation and purchasing of materials needed for the clinic and staff houses to be built.

Ward 25 Councillor, Ruzai Muchaurawa said he was pleased that work had at last been resumed at the project site which had become a painful heartbreak for close to five years.

“I am pleased that much of the
resources needed are in place to build the clinic. We are happy
that our MP and community leaders has realised the importance of this clinic to people of this ward and other surrounding areas.

This is the development we yearn for and the community has pledged to support the MP in his efforts to improve their lives. We all know he could have chosen to use the
money elsewhere if he wanted.

There are many deserving cases in Zvimba East”, said Muchaurawa.

Ward 25 is the first ward to benefit from the first disbursement of the Constituency Development Fund under the leadership of MP Mananzva.

A 1 hectare peace of land was donated by the Zvimba Rural District Council with a number of local companies having already donated bricks and quarry stones towards the initiative.

The closest health centres at the
moment are Nyabira Clinic, Hebert Chitepo Clinic and Dzivarasekwa Clinic, all of which are at least 10 km away.

Initial designs for the clinic
intended it to be solar-powered as well as to have a solar-powered borehole and a few maternity beds.

The Project is set to last at least two months and is expected to be completed in July this year.
