Renowned traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani is set to host a star-studded birthday celebration at 007 Hide Out in Glendale on Friday , with a galaxy of musicians, entertainers and dance groups lined up for the event.
Dubbed the Indaba Boss Birthday Bash, the annual celebration will honour News Commander, popularly known as Indaba Boss, and journalist Simbarashe Sithole.
The event kicks off at 6pm and will run until late, with organisers promising a night of live music, dance and entertainment.
The entertainment line-up includes Franco Slomo, Wasu Dacoda, Chipo Muchegwa, Jack Matumbu, Gas G Zambia, Boom Betto, Jesa Africa, Tailor President, Jnr Hwinza and the Nyangaz Dance Crew.
MC Udzanai Gode will steer proceedings, while DJs Liny ZW, Kalcon ZW and Jack Pukunyenye are expected to keep revellers on their feet throughout the night.
Organisers have also promised tight security and a fully stocked bar as part of the arrangements for the celebration.
Speaking to The Blast, Sekuru Nyangatayani said this year’s bash was being held to recognise Sithole’s contribution to journalism.
“This year I am hosting the annual Indaba Boss Birthday Bash in honour of the important work being done by our journalist Simbarashe Sithole,” he said.
“We are inviting everyone to come and celebrate with us.”
Nyangatayani is also known for his philanthropic work, including donating food and supporting the payment of school fees for less-privileged members of the community.
The birthday bash, which has previously been held in Guruve, will be hosted in Glendale for the first time this year.
Organisers said the move was expected to give the event a new dimension while bringing together performers and fans from different entertainment circles for a night of music, dance and social entertainment
