A police officer from Figree is in trouble after he allegedly stole a stray bull and sold it at a local abattoir.

Nyathi Mayibongwe (33) was dragged to Plumtree magistrates Court, where he appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

Nembaware remanded the cop in custody to March 12.

The state alleged that sometime in August last year, the suspect saw a stray bull and loaded it into a Peugeot vehicle belonging to a local cattle transporter.

He sold the bull at Mbokodo abattoir.

The case was discovered by a local farmer who saw that the stray bull was missing and figured out that it had been stolen by the suspect.

Sheila Nyathi prosecuted.
