KWEKWE – Police in Kwekwe are investigating the discovery of unidentified human remains near Gweru River, Jena Mines area in Silobela, on February 8, 2026.
The remains were found by Nkosana Mgezwa (39) who alerted authorities.
In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Midlands provincial spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said they are appealing for information that might help in the identification of the human remains.
“Informant is Nkosana Mgezwa, aged 39 years. He was on his way home when he discovered scattered human remains in the bush. During the scene attendance, police also discovered clothes of a female adult about 20 metres from the human remains,” Mahoko said.
Inspector Mahoko added that police are appealing to the public for information to help identify the deceased.
