HARARE – ZANU-PF Harare provincial commissar, Voyage Dambuza, has warned grassroots structures against spreading falsehoods and divisions within the party, emphasising the need for unity and peace.

Speaking during a district leaders’ mobilisation meeting in Epworth, Dambuza cautioned against misinformation and factionalism, which he said hinder genuine progress and development.

“Let me take this opportunity to condemn and warn against some leaders from grassroots who want to cause divisions within party ranks through fanning factionalism. Every belongs to the party under one leader, Comrade Emmerson Mnangagwa and there is no need to move around claiming this one belong to this grouping and that one belong to another group,” Dambuza said.

“As ZANU-PF, we should be united as a solitary group under one President down the ranks without causing divisions. Let us take the opportunities available within the party to empower everyone, not disintegrating our united party. ZANU-PF does not thrive on grapevines or factionalism, but love, unity and peace,” he added.

“We all leaders to mobilise our grassroots membership to attend the event which will be addressed by the First Lady, Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa and please bring children between ages of a year upto five because there are various donations and empowerment initiatives that the First Lady has prepared for them also,” Dambuza pleaded.

Comrade John Guta, ZANU-PF’s Harare provincial Chairperson for war veterans, echoed Dambuza’s sentiments, pleading with grassroots members to weed out factionalism and promote unity.

“Even during the struggle for liberation, divisions amongst comrades were not tolerated. Let us all come in our numbers to attend important event by the First Lady,” Guta said.

Meanwhile, Harare provincial women’s league chairperson, Barbra Mwale, also emphasised the importance of shunning divisions, stressing that unity is key to the party’s success. The remarks come ahead of First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s scheduled visit to Epworth on Wednesday.

The ZANU-PF leadership’s strong stance against factionalism suggests a renewed effort to consolidate power and present a united front.

With internal conflicts and power struggles often pluguing the party, the warnings from Dambuza, Guta and Mwale serve as a clear message to grassroots members to toe the line and prioritise party unity.
