The constituency of people living with disability as a result of the protracted liberation, war victims, is appealing for assistance from Sir Wicknel Chivhayo who is transforming the lives of many disadvantages communities.

Running under the banner of Zimbabwe Liberation War Victims Association, the private voluntary organisation is home to estimated 25 000 people living with disability as a result of the liberation war atrocities by the white colonial era Ian Daglus Smith and his allies .

Many of the members are people who have amputated legs and hands depend on wheelchairs and artificial limbs which are sourced from various organisations and benevolent individuals by the association.

Speaking recently, the association chairperson Mrs Agnes Matsaira said whilst many programs were moving well as a result of the support from government they still have problems with transport logistics which is key in the day to day affairs of the association.

“We thank President Mnangagwa and his administration for all the support we receive especially in the maintenance of our welfare we are indeed grateful.

“However, we still have a challenge after losing the only vehicle we had from a Good Samaritan which we have been using over the years in running the programs for our association.

“Therefore, we are appealing to Madzibaba Wicknell Chivayo and his associates the likes of Scott Sakupwanya to come to our aid, the donation can go a long way on impacting the lives of our people living with disability in all the provinces across Zimbabwe. This 2024 we faced several challenges in fulfilling our objectives due to lack to the transport challenges,” said Mrs Matsaira.
