Dube, a ZAPU military wing, ZIPRA, leader during the independence war, subsequently joined the Zimbabwe National Army as director of signals before retiring also worked in the Ministry of Defence as a deputy secretary and director of research and development before assuming the Managing Directorship role in the Zimbabwe Defence Industries.

Dube a former advisory board member to the secretary-general of the United Nations on Disarmament was the fundraising Chairman for ZANU PF in Bulawayo also served as a Zimbabwe Mining Development Corporation (ZMDC) board member for eight years, Deputy board Chairman of TelOne for seven years before serving as the chairperson of Marange Resources and was currently serving as a National Railways of Zimbabwe board member.

Dube served as the Minister of Welfare Services for War Veterans, War Collaborators and Former Political Detainees in the second Republic before Christopher Mutsvangwa replaced him.

Tshinga was accredited for vast benevolent acts including feeding the poor, financing a majority of Highlander’s projects including paying coach Eddie May, buying the team bus, bringing World renowned pop musician, Michael Jackson to Zimbabwe among other regional music greats like Freddie Gwala.

Dube a Moscow graduate had not be well for some time and details on his passing on are yet to be officially announced
