Controversial Senator and leader of opposition in Parliament and Senate, Sengenzo Tshabangu, has hinted on the looming elective Congress of the Country’s main opposition CCC as set for the end of the year, citing that there is no longer time for kid’s play within the opposition
While his critics might be quick to discredit his importance in the opposition culminating to the 2013 elections, it is important to note that Tshabangu has ursurped power from the assumed opposition leaders including Chamisa, Biti, Welshman Ncube succesfully as he has become the controversial face of the CCC.
Furthermore, while others might object to his call for congress, one thing is arguably true about his view about the opposition politics of Zimbabwe as being child’s play as he reffered to it having backtracked of a ‘kindergaten’ scénario.
Taking to social media site, X, formerly Twitter, Tsabangu made the announcement as he said, “We’re organising to hold a Congress before the end of this year so that we bring back our esteemed opposition to Constitutionality and legality, its time to do proper politics that fall within the confines of the law,we’ll never again tolerate kindergaten politics in our midst.”
Social media user’s as ussual, had no kind words for Tshabangu as they did to Hopewell Chin’ono and Ibbo Mandaza last month following their critism of Chamisa’s poor Political manouvres with some pronouncing obscenities against the controversial legislator.
The message comes a day after former CCC President and lawyer, Nelson Chamisa also took to social media portraying a new dawn in the country’s opposition politics when they assume power when division rocks their political boat.
“A NEW CITIZENS AFFAIRS PLAN…Our New Citizens government will introduce and rollout a comprehensive citizens’ affairs plan based on data, evidence, figures and statistical models. Our data-led government model begins at birth and guides each individual citizen’s development throughout their life. This plan will be launched from Day one of the new administration.” Chamisa said on his social media platform, WhatsApp Channel.
While Tshabangu tagged Chamisa and other former key CCC members in his post, it remains unclear whether they will be part of this elective congress or how their strategies stand following their resignation from CCC
