A tractor driver at Venom Farming Private Limited Company is facing culpable homicide charges after he ran over two farm workers who were sleeping underneath his tractor.
Mangton Banda of Umuzi farm in Glendale is assisting police with investigations following the incident.
The case was confirmed by Mashonaland Central police deputy spokesperson Lucy Chigwenhese.
“I can confirm a culpable homicide case in Glendale where a tractor driver fatally ran over two of his colleagues who were sleeping underneath his tractor,” Chigwenhese said.
Kudakwashe Chari (22) died upon admission at Concession Hospital while Nyasha Safarawo (18) sustained serious head injuries.
Police warned drivers to vigilant when driving and people to avoid sleeping underneath vehicles.
