More than 66,000 children in the Gaza Strip are suffering from severe malnutrition due to the starvation policy that Israel continues to implement following the closure of the crossings and the prevention of the entry of relief aid for more than two months.
Since the 2nd of March, Israeli occupation authorities have shut the Gaza Strip’s border crossings to food, relief supplies, medical aid, and goods, leading to a severe decline in the humanitarian conditions for Palestinians.
Statistics reaveled that approximately 2.1 million people in the Gaza Strip are suffering from a severe water crisis with nearly 70 percent of the Strip’s water infrastructure has been systematically destroyed as a result of Israeli military.
Ambassador Tamer Almassri reiterates that a war of extermination is being waged against the Palestinian people, and whoever remains silent about this destruction targeting entire families is an eternal accomplice in one of the most serious crimes recorded in history.
Ambassador Almassri reaveled that the death toll from starvation has risen to 57 since the beginning of the aggression, warning of an increase in the number, given the closure of the crossings and the prevention of the entry of relief aid for more than two months”, Ambassador Almassri explained.
“Since October 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have been conducting a relentless and large-scale military offensive on the Gaza Strip.
“This sustained assault has led to the killing of 52,567 civilians, the majority of whom are women and children, highlighting the devastating toll on non-combatants.
” In addition to the staggering death toll, 118,610 individuals have been injured, many
suffering life-altering wounds and disabilities”, Ambassador Almassri explained.
He highlighted that the widespread destruction has decimated neighborhoods, overwhelmed medical facilities, and displaced hundreds of thousands, further deepening the humanitarian catastrophe facing the Palestinian population in Gaza.
Meanwhile, the scale and persistence of the offensive have drawn widespread international concern, yet the violence continues with no immediate resolution in sight.
