Three soldiers who went on a robbery spree clad in Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) uniform have been arrested.
Iphithule Mlotshwa (24), Hamlet Mlotshwa (21) and Haulezwe Mlotshwa (25) were dragged to Bulawayo magistrates courts where they appeared before magistrate Shingirai Mutiro.
The state led by Nkanyezi Xaba alleged that on December 24 the trio went to Claremont mining area in Fort Rixon armed with axes , knives , electric shocks, handcuffs and torches.
They pounced on Qondisani Moyo’s bedroom and assaulted him before handcuffing him and robbing him of his $2800.
They also went to Trust Ndlovu’s bedroom and robbed him of his smart phone valued at $100.
Bukhosi Mkandla’s bedroom was also entered and they robbed him of his $350.
Atila Nyathi who was at Claremont Business Centre was not spared as he was attacked and robbed of his $1200.
The trio also severely assaulted Press Luphahla after they found him without any valuables.
The soldiers were remanded in custody to January 9 next year.
