A Plumtree based shopkeeper who stole groceries and money from her employer to feed her hungry mother is in trouble.

Miriam Tshuma (26) was dragged to Plumtree magistrates courts on Friday.

Tshuma was slapped with a $200 fine by magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware, while being warned that failure to pay would earn her a month in prison.

Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on November 13 the complainant
Masherry Moyo (58) received information that her employee had stolen groceries and sent them to her mother.


She filed a police report leading to the arrest of Tshuma who told the police that she wanted to feed her hungry mother.
