A 76- YEAR-OLD grandmother was convicted after she assaulted a herdboy with a stick for leaving his goats in her field.
Gertrude Ncube was sentenced to six months in jail by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware yesterday.
Nembaware suspended the whole sentence on good behaviour for the next five years.
Sheilla Nyathi, the prosecutor, alleged on January 14 , Ncube asked the complainant to drive out his goats from her maize field.
When the herdboy reached Ncube’s house she pulled a log and assaulted the complainant all over the body.
The herdboy fled and filed a police report.
