NYABIRA – Renowned philanthropist and traditional leader, Sekuru Kamwelo Banda, has shown solidarity with First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa’s humanitarian efforts at a food distribution program in Nyabira.
In an event attended by Mashonaland West State Minister, Marian Chombo, Banda emphasised that it is essential to take note of First Lady’s philanthropic works.

The event targeted vulnerable families where both Banda and Chombo highlighted the growing partnership between private philanthropists and the First Lady.
“We should take a template from First Lady’s philanthropic initiatives which is both inclusive and sustainable. The same consistency that the whole world is witnessing in First Lady’s work should be complemented by everyone,” Banda said.
“When talking about the Second Republic’s achievements, it would be unfair if we don’t mention the First Lady’s office because she is complementing sustainable development of our country. She is working tirelessly to make sure that both philanthropy and gastronomy tourism is on world map,” he added.
Minister Chombo praised Sekuru Banda’s consistent support for government-led social safety nets and the First Lady’s humanitarian work.
“This is the essence of Public-Private-Partnerships where some community leaders complement First Lady’s philanthropic and humanitarian efforts in transforming citizens. We really appreciate these initiatives which complement some aspects of National Development Strategy 2,” Chombo said.
“You are complementing the leadership’s efforts in addressing some social challenges which might lacking amongst communities. We welcome all initiatives which seek to socially and economically empower disadvantaged members of community,” Chombo added.
This collaboration underscores the synergy between influential community leaders and the government in addressing social challenges.
The event reinforces the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable communities, aligning with Vision 2030’s goals.
