Plumtree based Roman Catholic church priest, Qinisela Wilfred Moyo, is in soup after he allegedly generated a fake donation letter of a school bus before giving it to Embakwe High school, schools development committee treasure Martin Nleya.
The duo appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware who granted them $100 bail each.
The state alleged sometime last year Martin Ndlovu the head of Embakwe High School applied a loan at ZB bank to buy a school bus witnessed by Nleya.
The loan was granted in September last year and payment was done to the seller in South Africa.
The Priest intending to defraud Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) generated a fake donation letter and gave it to the school head to apply for a duty free exemption letter and it was approved by the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education.
ZIMRA assessed the duty for the minibus as $18000 but exempted it due to exemption certificates.
The case was subsequently discovered and ZIMRA suffered actual prejudice $18000.
