Goromonzi, Zimbabwe – Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe (PLZ) has demonstrated its commitment to community development and social responsibility by donating Christmas food hampers to vulnerable groups, including the elderly and persons living with disabilities, in the Goromonzi district.
Speaking at the handover event, PLZ’s ESG Director, Yu Long, emphasized the importance of compassion and unity in the community.
“Christmas reminds us that compassion is not just a gesture, it is a responsibility. As PLZ, we firmly believe that progress is meaningful only when it uplifts the communities around us,” Long said.
The donation is part of PLZ’s ongoing efforts to support local families and promote inclusivity, particularly for persons with disabilities. The company recently marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which highlighted the need for disability-inclusive societies and equal opportunities.
Yu Long expressed gratitude to the Goromonzi district leadership and stakeholders for their collaboration in making the donation possible. “Collaboration is the heartbeat of community development, and we look forward to strengthening these relationships in the years ahead.”
Meanwhile, local headman Chinyika appreciated the gesture by PLZ claiming the gesture come as a relief in bringing smile amongst less priviledged members of community.
“We appreciate this gesture by PLZ since it would bring smiles amongst less priviledged. The PLZ has also been involved in transformative initiatives including infrastructure (development) thereby complementing sustainable development,” Chinyika said.
The food hampers were distributed to elderly and persons living with disabilities, bringing joy and relief to those in need. PLZ’s commitment to community development and social responsibility is a testament to its dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of local communities.
The event was attended by community leaders, stakeholders, and members of the media, who praised PLZ for its generosity and commitment to social responsibility.
