A Gweru based pedophile was sentenced to three years behind bars for violating Section 70 of the Criminal and Codification Act.
Talent Mpofu (27) was sentenced by Gweru magistrate Nixon Mangoti yesterday.
Mangoti suspended one year of the sentence hence the remaining two years are effective.
The court heard that sometime in March Mpofu proposed love to a 15 year old girl and he lured her to his house where he had sexual intercourse with her several times.
After sensing danger he hatched a plan to give his brother the minor as his girlfriend.
Mpofu persuaded the girl to elope to his young brother so that his shenanigans will not be known.
The girl told her mother about the whole incident and a police report was filed leading to the arrest of Mpofu.
