Harare, Zimbabwe – The Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr. Tamer Almassri, has strongly condemned the recent attack by Israeli occupation forces on displaced people in the Gaza Strip, calling it an “explicit act of terrorism”.
The attack, which occurred in the Al Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, resulted in the death of at least 90 Palestinians and the injury of 400 others, including children, women, and rescue crews. The shelling also forced the closure of medical facilities and restricted the entry of medical equipment.
Ambassador Almassri described the attack as a “systematic policy of deliberate extermination” against the Palestinian people and an extension of the “crime of genocide” committed by Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians.
Ambassador Almassri called on the international community and major powers to assume their responsibility and take decisive action to stop Israel’s criminal acts against defenseless Palestinians, who are being targeted in blatant defiance of UN resolutions and the orders of the International Court of Justice.
“The state of Palestine considers these crimes as an extension of the crime of genocide that the Israeli occupation continues to commit against Palestinian civilians, in blatant defiance of UN resolutions and the orders of the International Court of Justice.
“The Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught has risen to 38, with 88,881 individuals sustaining injuries”, Ambassador Almassri explained.
Meanwhile, the Ambassador emphasized that Israel’s continued aggression must be addressed, and that the international community must hold Israel accountable for its actions.
