The local government minister, Daniel Garwe, has hailed construction industry players under the banner of Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association(ZBCA) for their support of government efforts in infrastructure development in the country.

Speaking during the ZBCA regional summit held in Victoria Falls on Wednesday and Thursday Garwe said,
“Equally, it is pleasing that ZBCA is responding positively to this clarion call for locals to participate in the development of the country through the upscaling of their internal capacities, in terms of skills and equipment, amongst others.”


Furthermore, “Despite some headwinds affecting business, the construction industry has remained steadfast in its support for the Second Republic,”said minister Garwe.


He added that the theme of the Summit,” Leveraging Investment in infrastructure as a catalyst for Economic Growth,” ‘is therefore an affirmation and the industry’s commitment to partner Government in infrastructure development as we journey towards attaining the aspirations of Vision 2030’.


Meanwhile,the local government minister introduced the guest of honour at the summit ,Dr Constantino Chiwenga.
“The Vice President is a distinguished strategist and scholar…Besides his acumen as a military and political strategist, the vice president is an accomplished farmer and professional hunter. His other interests include research and discussing African military and political history, regional and international conflicts, economic peace and security issues,” revealed Minister Garwe.
