There was drama at Plumtree magistrates courts yesterday where Dupuo Moyo was convicted for assaulting her neighbour.

Moyo told the court that she assaulted her neighbour because he had stolen her pant on the washing wire.

Moyo was sentenced to six months in jail by magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

Nembaware conditionally suspended the sentence to 105 hours of community service.

In mitigation Moyo said ,”Your worship spare me a jail term l assaulted this man out of anger because he stole my pant, hence l did not know his intentions so l bashed him,” lamented Moyo.

Prosecutor Sheila Nyathi told the court that sometime in September Moyo came from work around 9pm and had a misunderstanding with Wellington Kangorongondo (31).

Moyo became violent and assaulted Kangorongondo with open hands and he sustained a swollen face.
