The invitation of nominations for the second edition of the 2025 List Awards have been officially announced, with organisers claiming that they added some extra categories to ensure inclusivity and recognition of unsung heroes.
Announcing an improvement to the prestigious event, advisory board chairperson, Pastor Philani Nyatsanza affirms that this year’s edition will be impactful in reaching diverse audience in the African continent.
“We are proud to affirm that this year’s edition will be bigger, better and even more impactful than our inaugural event. The overwhelming response to the first edition inspired us to expand our vision deepen our reach, and elevate our commitment to honouring Zimbabwe’s and Africa’s unsung heroes,” Nyatsanza said.
Furthermore, “This year, we are excited to announce the introduction of the ’emerging technologies award’ recognising the changemakers who are harnessing innovation to solve pressing community challenges and driving positive transformation. This award reflects our commitment to staying relevant in a dynamic world and celebrating those who advance progress in our ever-evolving societies,” added Nyatsanza.
“Our diverse categories continue to capture the breadth of meaningful
contributions across society, from humanitarian and social impact to climate
and environment, human rights, storytelling, sports, and beyond. We are also thrilled to extend three prestigious Pan-African awards, positioning The List
Awards as a true regional platform for Southern and East Africa,” Nyatsanza announced.
The event will celebrate excellence across 13 diverse categories such as Business Impact, Humanitarian Impact,
Social Impact, Climate and Environment Impact, Human Rights, Storytelling, Sports, and Emerging Technologies,
including three key Pan-African awards open to change agents in Southern and East Africa.
“In line with global best practices, the Selection Committee for The List Awards operates independently to ensure
transparency, integrity, and fairness throughout the nomination and selection processes. This independence was established by The List Awards Advisory Board, which recognised the importance of a separate committee empowered to manage the entire selection framework-from setting criteria and conducting the initial screening of nominations, to electing the jury and overseeing the transparent voting stages,” Advocate Chinga Govhati said.
Announced and organised by Identities Media, The List Awards were founded to restore dignity to the awards space by recognising those who work selflessly and tirelessly to uplift community heroes who do not seek the spotlight but whose actions transform lives.
