Love can lead one to take desperate measures, this was proved by a Kenyan who illegally entered in Zimbabwe, Plumtree and over stayed after having quality time with his girlfriend.
Patrick Kipyegon Lang (39) was dragged to Plumtree magistrates today where he appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
He pleaded guilty to the charge saying love pushed him to commit the crime.
“Your worship l desparately wanted to see my girlfriend hence l illegally entered this country so that l would be with her during the holidays,” lamented Lang.
Nembaware slapped him with a $100 fine, to which failure to pay would earn him one month in jail.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that Lang entered Zimbabwe on December 21 and failed to present a passport at Beirtbridge border post.
He went to his girlfriend’s place in Plumtree.
On January 3 he tried to cross the border through Plumtree border post and upon examining his passport they did not see an entry stamp leading to his arrest.
