Suspicion without overwhelming cheating evidence driven by jealousy has landed a Plumtree man in the dock after being sentenced thirteen months on assault charges.
The not-so-investigative 36 year old, Nicholas Ndlovu, ran out of luck after appearing before Plumtree Magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware. Appearing in court this Friday, Nicholas Ndlovu was found guilty of physically abusing his wife using an axe haft (handle/handgrip).
After rigorous assessment of the case’s gravity, Mr Nembaware slapped Ndlovu with a thirteen (13) month-long imprisonment term of which seven (7) months were suspended for a period of five (5) years on condition the accused does not within that period commit any similar offense.
The remaining effective six (6) months were further suspended on condition the accused completes 210hrs of community service at Watershed Primary school with effect from 12 April within six (6) weeks.
Circumstances were that on the 6th of April, the accused (Nicholas Ndlovu) suspected his wife was cheating after she received a phone call from her brother. A misunderstanding ensued thereafter leading bodily harm as evidenced by medical report in the court.
Selestine Madziwa prosecuted.
