Guruve Conference Centre (GCC) was the home of Guruve Pool League (GPL) mid-season finals on Sunday.

More than 100 players converged at GCC for the finals and only the top four walked away with prizes.

Lovemore Chiweshe from Homeground team topped the list and walked away with a trophy and $75.

GCC’s Thomas Muza got the second prize,Remember from Padya and Simbarashe Sango from Shinje got the third and fourth prizes, respectively.

GPL chairperson Mr Joram Hwande said the league’s main goal is to fight drug abuse.

“The tournament went well,as participants showed high levels of discipline, a clear sign that the the league is slowly achieving it’s objective of stopping violence and drug abuse among Guruve youths .”

He also encouraged patrons to continue hosting such tournaments for the benefit of the local community.
