A Plumtree-based drug dealer, Sam Junior Mhako (38), was sentenced to four years in prison by Plumtree magistrate, Mr Blessings Tsinango, for unlawful possession of dangerous drugs.

The court heard that on the First of July 2025, a tip-off was received from an informer to the effect that the now convict was dealing in dangerous drugs at his place of residence.

Acting on a tip off, detectives intercepted the convict who was seated on the passenger seat of a Volkswagen Polo vehicle, which was parked in Plumtree town near council offices.

The convict was in possession of a small green bag which he was holding.The bag was searched and it contained 93 satchets of dagga, 5 by 100mls of Broncleer with Codeine syrup and 3 by 100mls Benylin with Codeine.

The drugs were recovered and the convict was arrested.
