A Plumtree based donkey thief who stole eight donkeys from the grazing land was convicted yesterday.
Dumisani Ngwenya(46) was sentenced to four years in jail by magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware conditionally suspended one year.
The court heard that sometime in August 2022 Ngwenya hatched a plan to steal donkeys from Dombodema grazing land.
He drove the donkeys to the next village where he was now using them.
On March 29 the police pounced on him and recovered the donkeys before arresting him.
The total value of the donkeys is US$1600.
