MAGUNJE – Renowned Traditional Healer and Muslim cleric, Sekuru Banda, has urged Zimbabweans to rally behind President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030, citing the government’s transformative projects and progress.

Speaking at a charity event in Karoi, Sekuru Banda described the current leadership as divinely ordained and emphasised the need for national unity.

“These are not just projects; they are life-changing developments that ease movement and boost our economy,” Sekuru Banda said, pointing to modernization projects like the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport and major highways.

He stressed that Zimbabweans must set aside political differences to reclaim their status as the “Breadbasket of Africa”. “We can see the strides being made. As traditional leaders, we stand firmly behind the President’s vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe,” Sekuru Banda added.

Politicians have welcomed Sekuru Banda’s stance, highlighting the importance of traditional and religious leaders in achieving the goals of the Second Republic. The government’s “Zimbabwe Is Open for Business” policy has seen growth in sectors like mining and agriculture, despite economic sanctions.

Meanwhile, Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honorable Marian Chombo, has publicly backed Sekuru Banda’s call for national unity behind President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030. Chombo welcomed Sekuru Banda’s stance, emphasising the importance of traditional and religious leaders in achieving the Second Republic’s goals.

“Vision 2030 is inclusive especially with ‘Zimbabwe Is Open for Business policy’ which is an assurance that we are friends to everyone and an enemy to none. President Mnangagwa’s approach to business has deliberately lured even those whose political and business ideologies were previously alien to ours, and this is therefore a true testament that his leadership is divinely ordained as has been endorsed and requested by Sekuru Banda,” Chombo said.

Chombo also cited progress and growth in mining, transport network and agriculture despite economic sanctions.

“Despite targeted economic sanctions against Zimbabwe, President Mnangagwa’s administration has proven to achieve much in various sectors including road transport network, mining, agriculture, tourism, among other sectors. We have continuously recorded a surge in each sector,” Chombo added.

This alignment highlights a growing synergy between government officials and influential community leaders, amplifying the push for national unity behind Vision 2030.
