Failure to control temper has landed a 29-year-old Plumtree man in trouble after he axed his brother after accusing him of reporting him to the police.
David Moyo was sentenced to two years behind bars by Plumtree magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware suspended six months on condition of good behaviour.
Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on March 2 the convict had a misunderstanding with his brother Thabani Moyo(37) accusing him of reporting him to the police.
He picked an axe and charged towards his brother and assaulted him with it there by breaking his ribs.
The injured was rushed to hospital by his relatives while the convict was arrested.
