A 36-YEAR-OLD Jealous husband was sent to prison for allegedly assaulting his wife with open hands over a cellphone dispute.
The charged husband, Smart Dube, was dragged to Plumtree magistrates Courts and appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware remanded Dube in custody to November 25.
The state alleged that on October 28 the husband saw a love text message in his wife’s cellphone and a misunderstanding arose.
The next day Dube went to work and came back very angry and did not eat the food served to him by his wife Nomvelo Ncube.
Dube started assaulting his wife on the face before pinning her down.
A police report was filed leading to the arrest of Dube.
