In a landmark development for Zimbabwe’s media and sporting industries, Presidential Adviser and Prevail Group Chairman Dr Paul Tungwarara has signed a record-breaking USD $200,000 annual advertorial deal with The Scottland Magazine Show.
The agreement—covering both the print and podcast editions—ranks among the largest single-year advertising commitments in Zimbabwe’s sports media history.
The deal will see all Tungwarara’s companies, including Prevail and Tap & Go, advertising on the popular Scottland Magazine Show throughout the year.
Dr Tungwarara said the decision was inspired by a spirit of unity among business leaders who share a commitment to national development.
“I saw my brother, Sir Wicknell Chivhayo, supporting the show, and I decided that all Prevail companies will advertise with The Scottland Magazine Show for a year,” he said.
Amid speculation suggesting competition between the two businessmen, Dr Tungwarara emphasized that he is not competing with anyone, noting that he is a philanthropist driven by a passion for helping the needy and supporting national initiatives.
“The fact that we sometimes operate in similar industries with Honourable Scott doesn’t mean we are competitors — we complement each other,” he said.
Looking to further uplift local sport, Dr Tungwarara also announced plans to partner Scottland FC in the upcoming season by providing free transport for fans using his Tap & Go service whenever the team plays at Rufaro Stadium in Mbare.
“We want to be part of Zimbabwe’s football transformation journey,” he declared.
He went on to congratulate Scottland FC for winning the 2025 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title, describing the achievement as a product of “visionary leadership, hard work, and community spirit.”
“Congratulations to Honourable Scott and the entire Scottland FC family. This victory is a win for the community and for Zimbabwean sport,” he said.
Dr Tungwarara also applauded Scottland Magazine Show Executive Producer Tapiwa Letmore Mbidzo for maintaining international production standards and championing professionalism, stressing that Zimbabwean creativity deserves global recognition.
Turning to national wellbeing, he urged Zimbabwe to unite in the fight against drug and substance abuse, calling on corporates to partner with Scottland to safeguard the country’s youth.
“Our country is suffocating under the weight of drug abuse. I call upon other corporates to partner with Scottland for the betterment of Zimbabwe,” he said, encouraging Hon Scott to expand grassroots football by introducing village-level tournaments to nurture raw talent.
Scottland FC CEO Ronald Moyo credited the club’s success to “determination and teamwork,” while award-winning comedian Comic Elder provided lively entertainment at a celebratory event that seamlessly blended sport, media excellence, and patriotic goodwill.
