Muzikhona Ncube (23) of Ingwizi Growth Point, Mphoengs appeared before Plumtree magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware facing dual charges of attempted rape and theft.
He was remanded in custody to 27 August.
Ms Sheilla Nyathi prosecuted.
The court heard that on 11 August, the accused person proceeded to the complainant’s house and entered her room through an open door.The accused person found the complainant inside her room and allegedly pulled his short down and grabbed the complainant by the throat while the other hand was removing her skirt.
The complainant resisted by pulling her skirt up and the accused went on to hit her on the mouth with a clenched fist.
A police report was made leading to the arrest of the accused and nothing was recovered.
