A 32- suspected rapist from Masenda Central village, Chief Masendu, Madhlambuzi appeared before Plumtree magistrate Josha Nembaware facing rape charges.
He was remanded in custody to 13 August.
Allegations are that on 7 August, the accused proceeded to the complainant’s place of residence where he removed his tennis shoes and walked bare footed to the complainant’s hut where he forcibly opened the door to gain entry.
While inside,he found three juvenile girls and proceeded to where the complainant was sleeping and got into her blankets.
He went on to remove the complainant’s pant and forcibly had anal sexual intercourse with her once.
The complainant woke up and started screaming calling her parents who ran to the scene and found that the accused had already fled leaving his tennis shoes and speaker box outside the complainant’s hut.
On that same day, in the morning,the accused footprints were tracked and he was located closer to his place of residence.
After interrogation,the accused confessed that he was the one who had entered the complainant’s hut and that the tennis shoes and speaker box were his.They were returned to him and police report was made leading to his arrest.
