A greedy Plumtree man, Hlanganiso Ncube(43), is in trouble after he assaulted a maid over round nuts.
He was dragged to court and appeared before Plumtree magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware facing physical abuse charges.
He was remanded in custody to 13 August.
The state led by Sheilla Nyathi alleged that on 9 August the complainant was doing her routine domestic chores at the accused brother’s homestead when the accused sent her daughter to collect some round nuts from the complainant who refused stating that there were no round nuts save for the few reserved for planting.
This did not go down well with the accused who proceeded where the complainant was and requested for the keys to unlock the door where the round nuts where kept and the complainant refused.
A misunderstanding arose between the two over the issue of rounds nuts and the accused allegedly slapped the complainant once on the face near the right eye and beat her twice with a switch on the buttocks and then proceeded to his homestead.
The complainant followed the accused to his homestead where the accused further bit her with clenched fists and open hands several times all over the body and booted get her once on the left hand.
