MUTOKO – Mbare bred Zimdancehall artist, Seh Calaz (born Tawanda Mumanyi), is set for a musical showdown (contest) this August with his young brother, Linford Mumanyi whose rise to gospel genre is noticeably gaining traction, an event which saw the victor between the two siblings walking away with over US$5,000 cash prize.
Speaking before thousands of congregants during a three-day fasting and prayer wrap-up event in Mutoko last week, founder leader of St John Apostolic Church of the Whole World, Bishop Sydney Mabhiza announced that it will be a family affair when Zimdancehall would be clashing with gospel genre between the two brothers at an international event slated for August.
“Let me announce that sooner than later, we will organise a musical showdown between Seh Calaz and his brother, Linford Mumanyi where the winner will walk away with over US$5,000. It will be a musical family affair as the Mumanyi brothers will showcase their talents and the audience will judge for us to identify the victor during the clash,” Bishop Mabhiza announced.
“This is my assignment to you Linford to go, engage and extend invitation to your brother Calaz for this event in August,” Bishop Mabhiza added.
Meanwhile, Linford announced the he will soon engage and extend invitation to his brother.
“I am ready and will engage my brother for this event. Though we are into different musical genres, I am humbled to share a stage with him during that contest, and after all, the US$5k cash prize remains within the family,” Mumanyi said.
“We will meet with my brother to have an engagement meeting in preparation for the contest,” the soft-spoken gospel artist added.
