Harare – Palestine’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dr Tamer Almassri, has condemned ongoing genocide being carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza, calling for immediate and decisive international intervention to stop the bloodshed.
The ambassador’s remarks come in the wake of deeply disturbing admissions from some Israeli leaders who reportedly acknowledged that the Israeli army is “killing Palestinian children as a hobby”—a revelation that has shocked the global conscience and prompted renewed calls for urgent international intervention.
Ambassador Almassri reaveled that since October 2023, Israel has systematically killed more than 53,000 Palestinians in Gaza, the vast majority of whom are innocent women and children.
According to the ambassador, the siege has turned Gaza into an open-air prison where even the most basic human needs—water, food, medical care—are scarce or entirely unavailable.
” The humanitarian catastrophe continues to worsen with each passing hour. More than 14,000 babies are at imminent risk of death if life-saving supplies are not immediately allowed into the besieged Strip. Despite this dire reality, Israel continues its policy of denying crucial aid amidst relentless bombing and the deliberate killing of Palestinian civilians”, Ambassador Almassri explained.
Meanwhile, the State of Palestine reiterates its urgent call for immediate and robust international intervention to halt these atrocities. The world must not remain silent in the face of such clear violations of international law and human decency.
Accountability for the heinous acts committed is crucial for upholding justice and preventing further loss of innocent lives. The world cannot remain silent in the face of such egregious violations of international law and human decency.
