The State of Palestine vehemently denounces the relentless Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, characterised by the deliberate destruction of critical infrastructure and the forced displacement of civilians.
Israel’s aggressive actions in Gaza have escalated to a systematic destruction of infrastructure, aiming to “flatten” the territory and displace Palestinians. This brutal strategy follows the failed attempt to expel Palestinians from their homeland. By targeting Gaza’s infrastructure, Israel is effectively forcing Palestinians to flee, committing a war crime and violating international humanitarian law .
The Israeli military has been deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure in Gaza, including homes, hospitals, schools, and places of worship, causing widespread destruction and disruption of essential services like water, electricity, and sanitation
This systematic targeting has left millions of Palestinians without access to basic necessities, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The deliberate destruction of civilian infrastructure is a clear violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits attacks on civilian objects and infrastructure .
The Israeli military’s actions have been widely condemned by human rights groups and international organizations, who have accused Israel of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
This policy of “scorched earth” is a deliberate attempt to displace the Palestinian population and ethnically cleanse Gaza. The destruction of homes, infrastructure, and vital services is designed to make life unbearable for Palestinians, forcing them to seek refuge elsewhere. 90% of Gaza buildings have been destroyed with over 2 million Palestinians displaced.
Ambassador Tamer Almassri reaffirms that despite Israel’s failed attempts at ethnic cleansing, genocide, and massacres, the Palestinian people remain resilient and committed to their homeland. The Israeli aggression has been unable to break the Palestinians’ unwavering spirit, and they will never surrender or abandon their homes in Gaza or the West Bank.
Ambassador Almassri added that the State of Palestine calls upon the international community to condemn unequivocally Israel’s war crimes and impose immediate, effective sanctions on Israel to deter further aggression.
“The state of Palestine is also appalled by the inaction of the international community in the face of the belligerent war-mongering state of Israel which continues to push the region towards the abyss of a comprehensive regional war that will have far-reaching consequences. That impunity encourages the Israeli occupation to continue committing its crimes against the Palestinian people who have suffered 76 years of injustice, oppression, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing” , Ambassador Almassri explained.
Dr Almassri reaveled that the State of Palestine reaffirms its unwavering dedication to upholding the inherent rights of the Palestinian people, encompassing their right to self-governance and the right to return to their ancestral homes. It is imperative that Israel is held accountable for its transgressions and compelled to terminate its unlawful occupation, thereby paving the way for a just and lasting peace.
