A bogus Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) Officer Holman Mapinduka is in soup after he allegedly duped a villager of his money.
Mapinduka was dragged to Plumtree magistrates courts yesterday where he appeared before magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
Nembaware granted him $50 bail and remanded the matter to November 18.
The state led by Selestine Madziwa alleged that Mapinduka approached the complainant, Delan Gwinyai Rutsitso, from October 1 to November 1 demanding cash from him.
He told him that he would get protection from the President’s office hence he had to pay different amounts during that period.
The complainant paid but became suspicious when Mapinduka demanded $900 from him saying he wanted to appease the bosses.
A police report was filed leading to the arrest of the accused.
